The story takes place in an empty park during autumn. The title character, Geri, is an old man playing chess against himself, "becoming" in each of the players on each shift, passing across the board and alternately inserting and removing lenses. As the game progresses, it appears that there are two people playing. The Geri without glasses seems on the verge of defeat Geri lenses, which only he is their king. The lens Geri cheats then distracting his opponent and then turning the board, so Geri without glasses now is who has only his king. The lens Geri Geri wins and without glasses gives what is disputed by the game - His false teeth. The final shot reminds the viewer that there is only one Geri.

Geri was then a cameo appearance in Toy Story 2, representing the restorer in charge of toys Woody.

- There are two errors in the film (they are deliberate errors director). Geri
- 1 When the game ends you see everything from above but it is the box shot when I turn the board. 2 The Geri "bad" (black) moves a pawn in an illegal manner, as it moves two squares horizontally to capture a pawn.
